whats in it for me?????

 in our minds eye  It seem to me that loved ones are always much kinder and dear, which leads me to believe possibly the same is true for hated enemies. Nothing is ever quite the way we exaggerate it to be in our mind. My memories hold deep feelings if they be good or bad they are never in the middle.Always deep and Divine or evil to the core. Life has prepared me for a journey down a road to perpetual acknowledgment of each being I encounter, I shall delve deep into each, searching for knowledge of their drive in life what makes you tick? And, why does it always seem the greatest quest is "whats in it for me" can we not be just for the sake of being or must we always seek a greater payoff.
